Through the Prism  (2016 - 2020)

prism - from prisma, Greek for "thing sawn"

This body of work is my way of exploring the physical presence of a digital photograph. Experimenting with photo manipulation and inkjet printing processes, each of these prints uses the inks that produce them to also obscure them. Areas of the paper substrate are sprayed with clear acrylic to prevent them from absorbing the ink printed. This forms a new image that I "paint" with as the wet ink spreads over the scene. The outcome is unpredictable and lives in the picture.
